3‘Adi Kailash’ is considered Lord Shiva’s oldest abode. Among the five abodes of Shiva ‘Adi Kailash’ is situated at a fair altitude of 6310 mt in the Himalayan mountain range in Pithiragarh district of Uttarakhand, India. Adi Kailash also referred to as Shiva Kailash, Baba Kailash, Chota Kailash, Jonglingkong Peak, or Little Kailash is in one or the other way a replica of Mount Kailash in Tibet.. At the very foot of Chotta Kailash in Gauri Kund reflects its entire expanse. Yet another water body closed by is called Parvati Sarovar. Also known as “Mansarovar” it is much smaller than the original one. A temple dedicated to Shiva and Parvati is there at the shoreline. As per mythology, Ravana is the Biggest Follower of Lord Shiva. Ravana comes from south (Lanka) to the far North Adi Kailash to pray Lord Shiva. Adi Kailash popularly known as Chotta Kailash is a holy place on an ancient pilgrim route in the Himalayan Range close to the Indo-Tibetan border. It is similar to Mount Kailash in Tibet in its spiritual significance. Though in a very remote area, the Darshan (view) of Lord Shiva’s abode is well worth the effort it takes to get there. It is an area of great natural beauty, peace, and serenity.
